How to reclassify survey responses to correct categories

Sometimes survey responses end up in the wrong category or contain typos that need correction. Fairing provides ways to reclassify these responses to ensure your data accuracy.

Manual Response Reclassification

You can manually reclassify individual responses by clicking on the response you want to change. This allows you to move responses from categories like "Other" to their correct category.

Bulk Response Updates

For larger-scale corrections, such as fixing typos in response options or reclassifying hundreds of responses at once, bulk updates are available through our data team.

To request a bulk update:

1. Contact support with the specific details of what needs to be changed

2. Include the question ID and the exact text that needs to be updated

3. Specify what the corrected text should be

Our team can handle bulk corrections like fixing typos in response options (e.g., changing "Friend of Family" to "Friend or Family") or moving thousands of "Other" responses to their correct categories.

Future Automation

Fairing is working on automated bulk reclassification features that will allow you to set up keyword-based rules to automatically categorize responses. This will help ensure responses containing specific keywords (like influencer names or platform abbreviations) are automatically sorted into the correct categories.
