How many response options is too many?

For HDYHAU questions we have not seen a correlation between response rate and response options. We recommend having few enough options so that the entire survey is above the fold on your thank you page, but there is no harm in adding new options if you are spending on additional channels.

Other Questions

For all other questions, if you have more than 10 response options, we recommend using our auto-suggest question structure so the customer is less overwhelmed with reading through response options. Auto-suggest will appear as an open ended text box to the customer, but once they start typing a drop down will appear with recommended responses based on what they are typing.
